unbroken sunshine:
Used when the sun is shining all the time
Example:
We’ve had a week of unbroken sunshine so far.

polluter:
A person or organization that causes pollution
Example:
Factories in this town are known to be the main polluters of this river.

Pollutant:
A substance that makes air, water, soil, etc. dangerously dirty.
Example:
Unfortunately, this area has become a dumping ground for toxic pollutants.

Smog:
Dirty air that looks like a mixture of smoke and fog, caused by smoke from cars and factories in cities.
Example:
smog is a major problem in Beijing.

Afforestation:
The act of planting trees in order to make a forest 

opposite: deforestation
Example:
Wasteland afforestation is found to be a financially viable and environmentally sound use of most of those lands.

Fauna:
All the animals living in a particular area or period in history.
Example:
In forestry, these chemicals can lead to a decline in water quality and to declines in aquatic fauna and flora.

Flora:
All the plants that grow in a particular place or country.
Example:
Tourism is damaging the flora of the island.

The marine environment:
The sea and the creatures that live there.
Example:
Fish farming poses a threat to the marine environment.

The physical environment:
The place where you live or work, including buildings, furniture, etc.
Example:
Improvements to the physical environment range from removing graffiti to planting trees.
